After 3 days of relaxation and recovery, I’m ready. Ready to speak to clients, scale Welf and get stuck in.
A whilst I’m coming to the end of my mini R&R stint, I can’t believe how refreshed I feel after just 3 days! 3 days of no e-mails, no phone, no laptop. Just me, my body, my mind and an outdoor plunge pool to keep me cool in this heat wave.
And whilst my mind kept reverting to Welf, I did manage to spend some time making me the priority. Hitting the gym, going for a run, reading a fiction book and taking my time to drink a cup of coffee, knowing I have nowhere to be after I’ve finished.
And the more relaxed I felt, the more I wondered how many business owners take the time to do this. Just stop. Clear the head. Make themselves the priority.
There is a whole lot of research around the mental health of business owners and founders. Always putting the business first. But I would love for you to try this. Book somewhere for 3 days. Weekdays. Days which you would normally be in the office. A place which you will find relaxing. A Spa. A Cottage by the Sea. A Tree House. Anywhere.
And switch off….
Trust me. Your body and mind will thank you for it.
