The Co-Founders Notebook - Keep showing up and your business will succeed!

The annual office Christmas party at Pure Offices Warwick took place last week, with the traditional “Xmas Quiz”.

Firstly, it really was a fantastic occasion, where several businesses came together for a turkey bap, a non-alcoholic mulled wine (or at least that’s what we were told) and sharing stories about how 2025 has been for each of us.

The common word used to describe 2025… HARD! And when you dive deeper that can be applied to pretty much everything. Hard finding the right member of staff to join the team. Hard raising capital to fund further investment. Hard managing the ever-increasing cost base. Hard winning new clients. The list really does go on.

Don’t get me wrong, I enjoyed the turkey bap, but hearing other business owners convey similar thoughts that our client base have been saying over the last 12 months really does confirm… it’s tough out there!

Our Xmas Quiz performance was no better than previous years, cementing our regular last place with a whopping score of 7! But as great as winning is, sometimes the taking part is just as important. This year might not have panned out the way you had wanted it too, and that’s o.k. because you learn a lot more in the tough times than you do the good ones.

Success in business doesn’t always come from winning – it comes from showing up, trying again, and learning something new each time you do.
